Top civil projects up for Earth Awards honours

Townsville's Queensland Country Bank Stadium and Haughton Pipeline Duplication works are among the civil construction projects shortlisted for this year's Queensland Earth Awards. Mendi Constructions and CivilPlus Constructions have been named as finalists for their work on those projects, while SoilCyclers and Rembind are in the running for work on the Townsville RAAF Base PFAS Remediation Project. Other finalists named for regional Queensland projects include SEE Civil (Three Chain Road and Dawson Highway) and PCA Ground Engineering (Kamerunga - Barron Gorge Foundation Replacement). The Earth Awards - or Excellence in Civil Construction Awards - will be held at Warner Bros. Movie World at the Gold Coast this Friday, October 23. The prime event for the Civil Contractors Federation Queensland, they recognise excellence in innovation, quality, safety, construction management, environmental and project management. "During a year of great adversity, it is pleasing to see how committed the Queensland civil construction industry is to celebrate their achievements," CCF Queensland chief executive officer Damian Long said. "With many events being cancelled due to COVID-19, we are grateful for the response we have received for this event, having some 300 attendees joining us on Friday. "The companies, students and people being recognised on the night all contribute to keeping communities connected statewide. "Once again we have received entries from across the State which highlights the importance of these awards to the construction industry. "CCF QLD is proud of its members and the key role they play in the delivery of infrastructure projects throughout Queensland."
