Mount Isa City Council has appointed local resident Renee Wallace to the permanent position of director of infrastructure services.
Ms Wallace, who was most recently the manager of facilities at Gidgee Healing, is due to begin in her role at council on Monday, February 15.
“Renee has extensive and diverse experience in local government and engineering and will be an excellent addition to council,” chief executive officer David Keenan said.
“Renee will be leading the infrastructure division and will also be an important member of the executive management team.
“We are excited to have Renee join us and look forward to the expertise, leadership and experience that she will bring with her to the role.
“Council has a number of significant projects in various stages of progression, so to have someone of Renee’s calibre at the helm of them bodes well for these exciting works.”
Ms Wallace has previously worked as a project engineer at the Mount Isa Water Board, as well as water and wastewater manager at Southern Downs Regional Council.
